Arts in brief: Tickets going on sale for Shrek The Musical

Tickets go on sale today for Shrek The Musical at the 5th Avenue Theatre in downtown Seattle. The show runs Aug. 14-Sept. 21.

Cost is $37.50 to $90 with matinees at $28 to $80.

Author to sign copies of book Saturday

Bryan McGlothin of Richland will sign copies of his book, Have You Seen My Mother, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hastings Books Music & Video in Richland.

The book is a true account of McGlothin's abduction from his mother by his father when he was 2 years old. He would not reunite with his mother for another 31 years.

Truck Historical Society show planned Saturday

The Columbia Basin Chapter of the American Truck Historical Society will hold its annual show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Flat Top Park in West Richland.

Anyone with an antique truck, tractor or stationary engine is welcome to bring it out to the show, where there will be a plethora of other vintage trucks to view.

Admission is free.

Fort Walla Walla Days set Saturday, Sunday

WALLA WALLA -- Fort Walla Walla Days and Western Art Show is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Fort Walla Walla Museum, 755 Myra Road.

Festivities include living history re-enactments, an art show, music and encampments from the fur trade era, Mexican war, Spanish-American war and World War I. There also will be small arms and artillery demonstrations.

Visitors can mingle among various historic exhibits and feast on barbecue and ice cream.

Admission is $7 adults, $6 students and seniors and $3 ages 6-12.

Hogs & Dogs to kick off Cool Desert Nights

The Hogs & Dogs event starts at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bombing Range Sports Complex in West Richland.

About 4,000 motorcycles are expected to turn out for this year's event, which will coincide with the kick-off of the annual Cool Desert Nights classic car festival.

There will be demonstrations by trick rider Jason Britton, who has been featured on the Speed Network and X-Games.

Admission to the event is free. But for $20, you can buy a chance to win a Harley-Davidson 1200 Nighster motorcycle.

Concert set June 20 at The Living Room

Monte Ingersoll and Mel Haug perform a concert starting at 6:30 p.m. June 20 at The Living Room Community Church in Kennewick.

Also performing for the fundraising concert will be Frank and Debi Eng, Doug Norman, Bobbie Keefe, Al Brower and the JC Vocal Band.

A silent auction starts at 6:30 p.m. A dessert also will be available.

Admission is $15, with tickets available at the door, Ted Brown Music in Richland or The Living Room.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Africa Mission Alliance.
