Richland nuclear plant taken offline for repair

The nuclear power plant outside Richland was taken offline Saturday night after hydraulic fluid was found leaking from an O-ring.

The leak affected the plant's main turbine, so the Columbia Generating Station was taken offline so repairs could be made.

Mike Paoli, a spokesman for Energy Northwest, which operates the plant, said it's unclear when the plant might start generating power again.
