Suspects arrested in Hermiston robbery

Two suspects have been nabbed in connection with a robbery a week ago at a Hermiston fast-food restaurant, and others are still being sought, authorities said.

Lisa Williams, 43, of Irrigon, and Travis Anthony Baker Vetter, 22, of Hermiston, were arrested late Sunday, said Hermiston police Lt. Tim Beinert.

The two are accused of forcing their way into the Jack in the Box at 1305 N. First St. around 3 a.m. Nov. 2, overpowering employees and stealing about $1,000 in cash, Beinert said.

Vetter was arrested at a Hermiston apartment and booked into the Umatilla County jail on suspicion of second-degree robbery, first-degree theft, possessing meth, criminal conspiracy, two probation violation warrants and warrants for failing to appear on a DUI/reckless driving charge and failing to pay fines.

Williams was arrested in Irrigon, with the help of the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, after she tried to avoid arrest by using her sister's name, Beinert said.

Williams was jailed on suspicion of second-degree robbery, first-degree theft, criminal conspiracy, a warrant for failing to appear on a charge of endangering the welfare of a minor and a probation violation warrant for absconding.

Hermiston police detectives are continuing to investigate the case and are tracking down information on possible co-conspirators, Beinert said.
