Kennewick High graduate Amanda Hall was 1-for-3 with an RBI to help lead Pacific Lutheran University's softball team to a 3-0 victory against Linfield to win the NCAA Division III national championship.
Hall had an RBI single in the third inning to put the Lutes (45-11) on top 2-0. Hall was one of the main reasons the Lutes reached the championship game, hitting a game-winning three-run home run Saturday to defeat Linfield. She then hit a walk-off single in the 12th inning Sunday, to help the Tacoma school defeat Montclair St. in the semifinals.
Southridge graduate Katie Lowery caught the entire game behind the plate, finishing 1-for-3 on offense. Stacey Hagensen, from Bellevue, threw the shutout from the circle, allowing three hits, walking none and striking out four.
Linfield was the defending national champions.
