Not a good day for the Colorado Rockies’ farm teams, who went winless in four games today, but it was a great day for former Tri-City Dust Devils catcher Jordan Pacheco.
Pacheco, who played for Tri-City in 2007 and 2008, got the start at third base and went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs in the Rockies’ 6-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. His big day also helped 49-year-old ageless wonder Jaime Moyer pick up his second win of the year and 269th of his career.
Pacheco started the season off with the Rockies, but was sent back down briefly to Triple-A Colorado Springs to get some more starts at third. Since coming back to the big club on May 7, the former ninth-round pick out of the University of New Mexico has gone 6-for-19 (.316) in his last 7 games.
