The Lewis-Clark State College women's basketball team opened the NAIA Division I tournament with a 74-63 victory Thursday against Loyola (La.) University in Frankfort, Ky.
The No. 12 ranked Warriors overcame a nine-point first-half deficit, shooting 66.7 percent from the field in the second half. LCSC will play the winner of Lubbock Christian-LSU Shreveport in the second round at 11:15 a.m. today.
Senior Tasha Bishop hit a career-high seven 3-pointers to lead LCSC, which overcame Loyola's Keiva Council, who scored 34 points, 20 of which came in the first half.
Bishop, from Meridian, Idaho, ended up with a career-high 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Jasmine Stohr, from La Salle, added 19 points and Pullman's Kirsi Voshell had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
