Friday is the Tri-City Americans annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The Seattle Thunderbirds will be in town for the festivities on pink ice.
Now, the ice isn't exactly pink. I haven't actually seen it this year, but in the past it has been raspberry. I have shirts the color they turn the ice. A color so dark it's hard to see the lines. In this day and age, you would think they could mix a nice soft pink. Lowe's is right next door, maybe they could help.
Raspberry ice aside, this is a fun night. The players' jerseys will be predominately black with pink and white accents. They will be part of a silent auction behind Section R. The buy-it-now price is $700.
Other auction items include pink player autographed pucks, gift baskets, signed team memorabilia and game tickets.
Also, pink T-shirts will be sold behind Section X for a suggested donation of $12.
In addition, the Tri-Cities Cancer Center will be selling chuck-a-pucks and giving away a Kindle Fire as the chuck-a-puck grand prize.
Last year, this event raised $22,259.
