I always thought Paul Wulff should get five seasons at WSU.
He may not get that fifth season, now that athletic director Bill Moos may fire him this weekend.
I felt when he first got hired by then-athletic director Jim Sterk that it was too late for him in that first year to make a difference as recruiting season came around.
And none of us knew then how bad things were with Bill Doba as far as recruiting was concerned.
So I felt that he should get that fifth season -- a full four years from his first legitimate recruiting class. If he didn't get the Cougs to a bowl game by the fifth year, then yes, he should go.
People talking about Mike Leach coming in ... I'll be surprised if that happens. Coaching in Pullman is not easy, and it takes a special person to come in and make that happen.
I'd like to see Moos stay the course, let Wulff get that full, legitimate four years in concerning recruiting. If he doesn't get the Cougs to a bowl game in 2012, then I'll be the first to say he should be gone.
