The Tacoma News-Tribune has a new football poll out and Kennewick is ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.
While that may come as a surprise to nearly everyone, the poll is based on a mathematical formula developed by one of the TNT’s readers. The TNT has partnered with Scott Odiorne and will run his BCS-like rankings every Tuesday.
Odiorne’s rankings differ quite a bit from other state football polls, as they have Chiawana ranked No. 12 in Class 4A.
In Class 3A, not only is Kennewick No. 1, but Kamiakin falls to No. 9 and Sunnyside (!) is No. 16.
Never miss a local story.
In Class 2A, neither Prosser or Othello makes the top 20, which is a tad strange.
And to top it all off, Connell is not in the top 20 in Class 1A.
So, take these rankings for what they are worth.
