What were you smokin'?*
Apparently, now we know.
A poor personal decision by Klay Thompson might have cost the WSU men's basketball team whatever slim chance it had of reaching the postseason.
Thompson, the Pac-10's leading scorer, was arrested and charged with marijuana possession Thursday night in Pullman after the Cougars' victory over USC. He was suspended for one game — Saturday's regular-season finale against UCLA.
This is not a good time for the Cougs to be without their best offensive threat. WSU is tied for fourth in the Pac-10 with USC and California, and desperately is trying to improve its positioning for the conference tournament.
It's frustrating that the Cougs can't seem to overcome the lure of marijuana — first Reggie Moore, now Thompson. Hopefully these guys are realizing individual choices do affect the team, even though I believe that's a lesson usually taught in grade school.
