The summer schedule for recreational boaters using navigation locks to travel past Army Corps dams on the Columbia and Snake rivers begins May 15.
From then until Sept. 15, boats may lock through going upstream at 9 a.m., 12:01 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The downstream times are 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
During those times, recreational boaters have precedence over commercial vessels. At other times, recreational boats may be allowed to lock through with commercial craft at the discresion of the lockmaster.
The schedule covers the following dams: Lower Granite, Little Goose, Lower Monumental, Ice Harbor, McNary, John Day, The Dalles and Bonneville.
