Openings in hunter education courses are filling quickly as the start of the spring turkey hunt opens in mid April, according to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.
A hunter education course is required for first-time Washington hunters born after Jan. 1, 1972. The courses teach safety, conservation ethics and principles of sportsmanship.
Traditional classes and online classes followed by a field evaluation are available.
A traditional class starts March 30 at Griggs Department Store in Pasco. A field skills evaluation course for the online class is offered April 18 through Richland Parks and Recreation.
Never miss a local story.
