Guided bird-watching hikes through the McNary Wildlife Nature Area will be led by park rangers at 8 a.m. Dec. 20 and Jan. 10.
This is a good time to see ducks, raptors and other birds and wildlife throughout the nature area along the Oregon shoreline of the Columbia River.
Participants should bring binoculars, cameras and their own water bottle and plan to walk at a leisurely pace for about two hours.
The hike will start at the Pacific Salmon Visitor Information Center. To find it, travel one mile east of Umatilla on Highway 730 and turn north onto McNary Dam Road. For more information, call 541-922-2268.
