The Chelan County PUD this week began a $1.1 million project to replace all eight docks at Lincoln Rock and Daroga state parks.
Contractor Redside Construction of Port Gamble will replace wood piles and floating docks with galvanized steel piles and aluminum-framed docks and gangways, PUD officials said in a news release.
The Lincoln Rock boat launch may close intermittently while equipment is moved into place. The launch at Daroga will remain open during construction.
No new docks will be built, the news release said, but the rehabbed docks will have more moorage capacity and wider decks.
Never miss a local story.
The existing docks are some 30 years old. All work should be finished by the end of February.
The work is a recreation requirement of the PUD’s new license to operate Rocky Reach Dam.
