Access to Washington’s state and national parks will be free Monday in honor of the 98th birthday of the National Park Service.
Washington State Parks offers 12 free days each year and the national parks have nine. The remaining 2014 free days are Sept. 27 (National Public Lands Day and Nov. 11 (Veterans Day).
The Discover Pass is still required to access lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Free days begin at 8 a.m.
