IRRIGON, Ore. -- Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge is celebrating National Wildlife Refuge Week on Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors can plant trees, see pond life and watch a biologist band a song bird.
A canoe/kayak tour will begin at 9 a.m. at the hunter check station on Paterson Ferry Road. Participants need to bring their own canoe or kayak and a personal flotation device. To RSVP, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
A special presentation on burrowing owls will begin at 11 a.m. The presentation will be given by assistant refuge manager Laci Bristow.
All events will take place at 72650 Riverview Lane near Irrigon, Ore.
