The Everett Silvertips scored four goals in the third period en route to a 6-3 victory Friday over the Tri-City Americans at Comcast Arena.
Jujhar Khaira had two goals and an assist in the third as Everett broke open a 2-2 game.
Justin Hamonic, Devon McAndrews and Lucas Nickles scored for Tri-City (19-20-2-2). Evan Sarthou made 34 saves in net for the Americans, while rookie defenseman Parker Wotherspoon handed out three assists.
Patrick Bajkov, Kohl Bauml and Carson Stadnyk also scored for Everett (24-13-5-1), which outshot Tri-City 40-15. The victory also ended Everett’s six-game losing streak at home.
The Americans’ trade deadline acquisitions — Jackson Playfair and Josh Thrower — made their Tri-City debuts, but neither figured into the scoring.
The Americans host Everett tonight. The Silvertips, who snapped a four-game losing streak, lead the eight-game series 3-1.
