SPOKANE -- Eric Comrie stopped 36 of 37 shots to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 2-1 win Saturday night over the Spokane Chiefs before a crowd of 10,052 fans at Spokane Arena.
After two scoreless periods, Justin Feser and Malte Strömwall scored in the first five minutes of the third period to give the Americans (19-12-1-2, 41 points) a 2-0 lead. For Feser, it was his 130th career goal.
The Chiefs, holding their Teddy Bear Toss night, had to wait until late in the game to toss their furry friends when Reid Gow scored 3:14 left in the contest.
Spokane (23-9-1-0, 47 points) pulled goalie Eric Williams with two minutes remaining for an extra attacker, but Comrie was solid, stopping Todd Fiddler with a right pad save with one minute left.

Comrie stonewalled Mitch Holmberg with 20 seconds left as the Americans held on to earn their second win over the Chiefs this season.
