KENNEWICK -- Tri-City Americans defenseman Zach Yuen was one of 19 WHL players invited to this year's NHL Scouting Combine from May 30-June 4 in Toronto.
"It's exciting, for sure," Yuen said. "I'm preparing right now. You can never get good enough. You take a little time off and you will lose it."
Yuen is one of eight WHL defenseman invited.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder from Vancouver, British Columbia, played all 72 regular-season games, scoring eight goals with 24 assists and a team-high plus-41 rating.
At the combine, the players will go through rounds of physical, medical and psychological tests that could determine where they are chosen.
"A lot of teams have contacted me and my agent," Yuen said. "From what I've heard, I should go in the top three rounds, or that range."
