VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Brendan Shinnimin scored twice and Carter Ashton collected four points as the Tri-City Americans beat the Vancouver Giants 5-1 in front of 6,225 fans at Pacific Coliseum Sunday night in Vancouver, B.C.
It was the second straight win for Tri-City and a nice piece of revenge for the Americans (39-21-2-2, 82 pts), who were shut out 5-0 last Sunday by the Giants (33-27-1-4, 71 pts).
Tri-City jumped on the Giants early and never looked back, scoring just nine seconds into the contest on Shinnimin's goal with an assist from Ashton.
The Ams added a goal in the final minute of the period when Ashton fed Kruise Reddick.
Vancouver pulled within a score early in the second, but Ashton found the net -- again in the final minute of the period -- and TC tacked on two more goals in the third.
Ams goalie Drew Owsley made his second straight start since returning from the disabled list and picked up 18 saves on 19 shots to earn his 32nd win of the season.
