Junior Bash: Sawyer Henry had a pair of two-run singles and Connor Sutey added another as the Hanford Flames did all their scoring in the sixth inning of an 11-1 win over the Kennewick Phantoms for third place at Waits Field.
Parker Darnell threw a beauty for the Flames, a three-hitter with five shutout innings after giving up a run in the Phantoms’ first turn at the plate.
Kennewick was poised for the win but — as can happen on the third day of tournaments — ran out of pitching at the end.In the game for seventh and eighth, Hermiston downed the Kennewick Dusters 11-5 behind a 4-for-5, four-RBI game from Chase Root.

Kimmel Invitational: The Hanford Flames Junior A team bounced back from three consecutive losses with a 5-0 win over the Crimson Cannons at the Corporal Nick Kimmel Invitational at Moses Lake.
Trevor Smith went 3-for-4 with and RBI, and Trevor Hammitt went 2-for-4 with an RBI and added an outfield assist, gunning a throw from center field to catch a runner trying to take third in the first inning.

West Coast League: The Walla Walla Sweets lost their first game in four days, falling 5-2 to the Medford Rogues at Borleske Stadium. Former Columbia Basin College standout Mac Acker picked up the win for Medford, allowing two runs — one earned — on five hits in six innings.
Former Southridge star Spencer O’Neil scored the Sweets’ first run after doubling in the second and scoring on Kris Paulino’s RBI single.
Wolfpack second in Ephrata: Ethan Langlois belted a two-run homer during a four-run sixth inning for Kennewick, but the rally came too late in a 7-5 loss to the Belgrade (Mont.) Bandits in the championship game of the White Division at the High Desert Classic.
The Senior Babe Ruth club was hitless through four innings as Belgrade pitcher Brett Franklin, who throws for Spokane Falls CC in the spring, finished with 10 strikeouts in a four-hitter.
