Richland’s Mason Hilty and Nate Ruane and Southridge’s Conner O’Neil will play for Team Adams today and Sunday at the Washington State High School Baseball Coaches All-State Games in Yakima.
The series will feature four games over two days at Davis High School. Because of an unfortunate series of events, fields at both Yakima County Stadium and Parker Field (YVCC) are unplayable.
Team Adams, coached by Glen Walker of Auburn Mountainview, will play today at 11:30 a.m. against Team Baker, coached by Terry Agnew of Woodinville.
In the second game, Team St. Helens will play Team Rainier at 3:15 p.m. On Sunday, the two losing team will meet at 10:25 a.m., while the winners will meet at 2 p.m.
Never miss a local story.
An awards ceremony will follow the final game.
Admission is $7 per day for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and a family pass is $20. A weekend pass is $12 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $35 for a family.
Hanford Flames 8-7, Lewis & Clark Twins 1-0: Jake Browne and Ryan Colson turned in a pair of excellent starts on the mound, and Isaac Benard went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs in the second game to lead the Flames to a nonleague sweep of the Twins in Senior American Legion play at Waits Field.
Benard finished with six hits on the day, but it was with the pitching that Hanford coach Nat Roe was most pleased, particularly Colson’s six innings of shutout ball.
“He threw excellent, he really did,” Roe said.
