Kennewick National picked up a pair of wins Friday at the Pacific Northwest 70-foot Regional tournament in Meridian, Idaho, defeating Willamette Valley (Ore.) 13-5 and then topping Helena (Mont.) 4-3, to earn a spot in today’s semifinal against Twin Falls.
Against Willamette Valley, Kennewick collected 16 hits — including three home runs and five RBIs from Kyle Marboe and another from Gavin Ayers — while Taz Milton and Ayers combined for a solid pitching effort.
Against Helena, Marboe hit two more home runs — both solo shots — and Nick Lindholm broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning, driving home Ayers with an RBI grounder to put Kennewick ahead.
Cal Ripken 11s: Jackson Lind’s two-run single highlighted Kennewick American’s three-run ninth inning that lifted them to a 13-10 win over East Boise in the Cal Ripken Northwest Regionals in Meridian, Idaho.

Kennewick outfielder Dylan Clark made a running catch with a runner on in the bottom of the ninth to prevent a Boise rally and preserve the win.
Lind finished with three RBIs, while Bodie Mamiya, Jack Sanders and Taz Thomas each had two hits and drove in two runs for Kennewick, which will play in today’s semifinals at either 9 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. The winners of each semifinal will play at 2 p.m. for the regional title.
Ty Messner pitched five innings in relief for Kennewick, striking out the side in the seventh with the bases loaded. Messner also shut Boise down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the ninth.

Cal Ripken 10s: Kennewick American continued to pile up the runs in the Pacific Northwest Regional in Lewistown, Mont., beating Belgrade, Mont., 25-2 before holding off Ellensburg 9-7.
In four pool-play wins, KA scored 79 runs.
Against Belgrade, Simeon Howard and Kayden Mitchel each struck out four in their two innings of work on the mound, and Gage Ackerman delivered a three-run homer among the team’s 21 hits.
Ellensburg was a tougher haul, despite KA leading 5-0 after the first inning. But the nearby rivals chipped away and were within 6-5 before KA’s two-out uprising in the fifth, powered by Justin Brown’s RBI single and Dylan Berry’s two-run double.
Howard added a pair of triples in the contest.
Kennewick is two wins away from advancing to the Ripken World Series in Winchester, Va. KA plays East Boise in a semifinal today, needing a win to reach the championship game in the afternoon.
