Bradley Morgan pitched a complete game and Tyler Dupuis drove in two runs to help the Southridge Bandits beat the Yakima Beetles 3-0 on Friday in the first round of the South Division American Legion AA district tournament at Southridge High School.
A scoreless game through 5 1.2 innings, the Bandits rang up three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
With the bases loaded, Ethan Sanders scored Tate Spivey with a squeeze bunt, followed by Dupuis with a two-run single.
Morgan struck out four and walked two, while Ryan Sanders went 3-for-3.

In other games Friday, Zane Orvald hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to help West Valley beat the Walla Walla Bruins 7-6. The Bruins turned around and beat the Yakima Beetles 4-0 in a loser-out game.
Today, the Bandits play West Valley at 1 p.m., with the winner advancing to Sunday’s championship game. The loser will play Walla Walla at 4 p.m. in a loser-out game. The winner advances to the title game.
In Selah, Cory Schouviller scattered four hits and struck out six as the Kennewick Dusters opened district play with a 12-0 win over the Apple Valley Blues.
Noah Garrard and Blake Marboe each had two hits for the Dusters, who will play the host Yakima Valley Peppers at 9:30 a.m. today.

Babe Ruth 13: Richland dropped two games in pool play at the Babe Ruth 13s Southern Washington State Tournament in Camas on Thursday.
In the first game of the day, Richland was unable to push across two runners in the seventh in a 7-5 loss to Longview. Brett Cowen, Mitch Powers, Jared DeVine and Alex Rosales collected two hits each for Richland.
In the second game, Millard Milton threw a 3-hit shutout as Camas defeated Richland 11-0. Richland plays its final pool-play game Saturday against Centralia/Chehalis.
Little League 11: The Washington State Little League Tournament for 11-year-olds begins today in Chehalis.
Walla Walla Valley opens play at 4 p.m. today against the District 8 champion.
Richland National, which won the District 12 crown, doesn’t play until 11:15 a.m. Sunday. It will take on the winner of today’s Hazell Dell vs. Riverview contest.
Cal Ripken 11: The Cal Ripken Kennewick American 11U baseball team is holding a car wash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Taco John’s, 701 W. Vineyard Dr. in Kennewick.
Donations will be accepted to help the team defray costs in attending the regional tournament in Meridian, Idaho, next week.
Little League 10: Thunderbird defeated Mill Creek at the Washington State Little League Tournament on Friday at the Badger Mountain Complex in Richland.
That eliminated Mill Creek, and it sets up a state title game between Thunderbird and undefeated Walla Walla Valley at 10 a.m. today.
Thunderbird must beat Walla Walla Valley twice to take the state title, while the Walla Wallans only have to win once.
The two teams met Wednesday night in the winner’s bracket final, with Walla Walla winning 9-4.
East Development is holding a 7-on-7 tournament today at Chiawana High School in Pasco.
Teams include Hanford, Davis, Pasco, Prosser, River View/Connell, Tri-City Elite, and Ford Sports Performance out of Bellevue.

Rosauers Open: Three professionals hold the first-round lead at the 27th Rosauers Open Invitational at MeadowWood Golf Course.
Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley, Ryan Benzel at Pro Golf Discount, and David Phay of Whidbey Golf & Country Club each shot 65s to tie for the lead.
Steve Stull of Meadow Springs Country Club is tied at 14th after firing a 68.
Brown, Baumgart win tournaments: Kennewick’s Austin Brown fired a 2-under-par 70 to win the boys 16-17 division title at a Washington Junior Golf
Association District 4 sub-district tournament Wednesday at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla.
Walla Walla’s Emily Baumgart shot a 75 to win the girls 16-17 tournament.
In boys 14-15 play, Alex Johanson finished first with a 75. In girls 14-15 play, Haley Greb won with a 74.
In 12-13 competition, Dylan Bissell fired a 71 to win the boys tourney, while Maylie Martinez’s 88 was the girls’ top score.
Finally, in 8-11 play (9 holes), Jackson Nettleship shot a 42 to finish first in boys, while Janae Martinez scored a 55 for first.
