The Boston Red Sox activated Richland native Jason Repko from the 60-day disabled list on Friday and assigned the outfielder outright to Pawtucket of the International League.
Repko, 31, hit 1 for 11 in five games with the Red Sox this season. The Hanford High School grad suffered a dislocated left shoulder making a highlight-reel catch in center field April 20 at Fenway Park on a fly ball off the bat of New York Yankees catcher Russell Martin.
The right-handed hitting Repko returned to action Wednesday, June 19 for Pawtucket. He started in left field for Pawtucket on Friday and went 2-for-6 in a 4-3 home loss to Louisville, lifting his batting average to .429 (12 for 28) in seven games this season for Pawtucket.
