CORVALLIS 13, WALLA WALLA 0: Corvallis scored 12 runs over the first three innings and cruised to a 13-0 victory, and a West Coast League series sweep, over the Sweets in Corvallis.
The Knights (9-4) scored a run in the first, seven in the second and four in the third to put the game away early. The loss was the sixth-straight for the Sweets (3-9) as they went winless on their six-game road trip.
Jorge Perez picked up the win for the Knights, striking out seven and surrendering two hits over 5 innings. Caleb Whalen, who plays for the University of Portland, was 2-for-2 with five RBIs.
The Sweets managed just four hits — doubles by Jared Jordan and Richland’s Jarrod Turner, and singles by Kalani Brackenridge and Spencer O’Neil.
