KENNEWICK -- Kennewick ended its season on a high note with a 9-8 edging of Rock Springs, Wyo., at Roy Johnson Field.
Chad Crider scored the game-winning run on Joe Spencer's line drive over the centerfielder's head.
"Overall, the season went well," Kennewick coach Nate Holdren said. "We overcame some bad starts to the tournament to win the last two games, including beating Montana (Whitefish), the No. 1 seed out of our pool.
"The kids played hard and never gave up."
The victory equalized the All-Stars tournament record at 2-2 and allowed the team to place third overall in the American Division pool.
Semifinals begin at 10 a.m. today. Meridian, Idaho, will take on Calgary (Alberta, Canada) and Whitefish, Mont., will face Bend, Ore., with the winners advancing to the championship at 7 p.m.
