UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Cappie Pondexter scored six of her game-high 24 points in overtime as the New York Liberty beat Connecticut 82-74 in WNBA action on the road.
Kennewick native Leilani Mitchell added 16 points and a career-high eight rebounds over 38 minutes for the Liberty.
New York improved to 10-10, giving every team in the WNBA's Eastern Conference a .500-or better record. Connecticut fell to 12-9.
New York led 40-30 at halftime thanks to Mitchell. She scored 11 that half, including three 3-pointers.
Mitchell, 25, has started every game this season. She's averaging 7.9 points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 1.75 turnovers and 27 minutes per game.
The University of Utah product is converting 83 percent of her free throws.
