GILLETTE, Wyo. -- Hermiston's Mary Shae Hays turned in the top barrel time of 17.594 seconds in Tuesday morning's performance at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette, Wyo.
Her time has her ranked 11th overall in the event.
On Monday, Hays had a time of 21.3 seconds in pole bending, good enough for ninth in the go-round.
Jade Crossley of Hermiston is ranked 37th in the barrels with a time of 17.824, and is 39th in breakaway roping (4.308).
In Tuesday's tie-down roping, Michael Pederson of Hermiston was 13th with a time of 13.015, while Carley Frazier of Touchet was fifth in goat tying (10.016). Frazier is currently 25th in the event.
In steer wrestling, Koty Kamm of Stanfield was 14th with a time of 9.605 on Monday, while in team roping, Evan Olinger of Pasco teamed with Macy Fuller of Clarkston for a time of 10.643, good enough for sixth in the round.
In Sunday's first go-round of team roping, Prosser brothers Nate and Wade Meeske had the top run of 10.379 seconds. They are 12th overall in the event.
