The Tri-City Dust Devils scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning, but it wasn’t enough as the host Everett AquaSox held on for a 7-5 Northwest League victory on Tuesday night.
Cesar Galvez came up with a double and three RBIs for the Dust Devils, who open a five-game homestand today against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
First pitch is 7:15 p.m. today.
Austin Cousino had two doubles for the Baby M’s, while teammate Corey Simpson drove in two runs.
Hermis Rodriguez took the loss for the Dust Devils, but he pitched a strong game. Over 5 innings, Rodriguez scattered five hits and struck out two batters.
He also surrendered just two earned runs, and his season-long earned run average is 2.05.
Lukas Schiraldi pitched five innings for Everett, striking out six, giving up no runs, and scattering just three base hits. It was Schiraldi’s first victory this season.
