The Tri-City Dust Devils broke a three-game skid Tuesday, holding off the Eugene Emeralds 3-2 in Northwest League action at PK Park.
Tri-City held a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but the Emeralds got to reliever Scott Firth, who walked four and gave up two runs in working just one-third of an inning. Josh Michalec came on and got the last two outs for his third save.
Ryan Garvey scored on a Josh Fuentes single in the fourth to open the scoring for the Dust Devils. In the fifth, Cesar Galvez crossed the plate on a Renaldo Jenkins’ single, and Fuentes scored on an error in the top of the ninth.
Logan Sawyer pitched four innings of relief for Tri-City, picking up his first win. Griffin Russell (0-3) took the loss for Eugene, which has won just once in its last six games.
