The Tri-City Dust Devils figured out how to score runs in bunches, rallying for five runs in the top of the third inning en route to an 8-4 win over the Everett AquaSox (4-1) on Tuesday at Memorial Stadium.
The Dust Devils (3-2) trailed 1-0 after Reggie Lawson led off the second inning with a triple and scored on a one-out single by Jack Reinheimer.
But Tri-City bounced back with a five-spot an inning later, highlighted by a steal of home by Marcos Derkes and a two-run single by Ben Waldrip.
The Dust Devils put 15 hits on the board — including three from Cesar Galvez and two apiece from Patrick Hutcheson, Wilfredo Rodriguez, Michael Tauchman and Waldrip.
Waldrip and Alec Mehrten each drove in two runs for Tri-City, and Derkes had two steals.
Jonathan Vargas (1-0) picked up the win for Tri-Cities, allowing one run on four hits over five ininngs.
