The Colorado Rockies, the parent club of the Tri-City Dust Devils, selected six players Thursday, the first day of the draft.
The Rockies' first selection, 25th overall, was left-hander Christian Friedrich out of Eastern Kentucky University.
Six rounds were completed on the first day of the draft.
The Rockies selected three pitchers, one outfielder, one catcher and one infielder.

Friday, the Rockies drafted 44 additional players, some of whom could begin their careers with the Dust Devils.
Colorado will start assigning players this weekend, and Dust Devils players will begin arriving Monday.
