Prosser grad Gore signs with NFL's Dolphins

From Herald news services

Dan Gore, an all-state player at Prosser and a versatile offensive lineman at Boise State, has signed a free-agent contract with the Miami Dolphins.

Gore, who graduated from Prosser in 2003, received "seven or eight phone calls in three minutes" after the draft ended, said Mustangs coach Tom Moore, adding that Gore and his agent decided his best chance was with Miami.

Since taking over as executive vice president of football operations with the Dolphins, Bill Parcells has cut the roster down.

Miami has only seven offensive linemen listed on their website.

Moore said Gore is the first Prosser graduate to sign and NFl contract.

He reports to minicamp Thursday.
