Go Melvin Go, Torres win rare match race at Sun Downs

Go Melvin Go, with Luis Torres aboard, defeated Fierce Hunter and jockey Roger Butterfly in a rare match race of 350 yards at Sun Downs in Kennewick.

Go Melvin Go finished in 18.31 seconds, just ahead of Fierce Hunter's 18.43.

Total betting handle for the nine races was $35,783.

The meet continues at 1:30 p.m. today with a 10-race card, including the $44,000 Pot O'Gold Futurity.
