Kamiakin 3, Walla Walla 2 (SO): Jose Maya tied the score in the 76th minute with his second goal of the game, but the Blue Devils couldn’t get past Braves goalie Riley Shulman in the shootout at Lampson Stadium on Tuesday.
Shulman stopped all three of the Blue Devils’ shots, and Kolten Brockman, Caleb Vogel and Ty Wallin scored to lead the Braves to a Mid-Columbia Conference victory.
“Our keeper did a great job defending the goal, so we were pleased with the shootout,” Kamiakin coach Jeff Bennett said. “Walla Walla definitely had us on our heels at the end. They played well, and they were definitely coming after us, and they tied it up. Fortunately, we were able to respond in the shootout.”
Wallin (12th minute) and Josymar Renteria (71st) scored in regulation for the Braves.

Chiawana 2, Hanford 1: Logan Ellsworth and Cezar Leon scored to lead the Riverhawks to a Mid-Columbia Conference victory in Pasco.
It was the second consecutive victory for Chiawana (5-3 overall, 4-3 league) after back-to-back losses.
“We have won two in a row against two of the teams at the top of the standings,” Chiawana coach Rich Zoller said. “It is good for our confidence. Hopefully we can keep building off of these last two wins.”
The Riverhawks defeated Kennewick on Saturday.
