Chiawana and Prosser stood pat in The Associated Press state rankings ahead of this week’s major conference tests.
Chiawana (5-1) was at No. 4 for a third consecutive week when the latest Class 4A poll was released Wednesday. The Riverhawks will visit Walla Walla on Friday night in a meeting of Mid-Columbia Conference unbeatens.
Prosser (6-0) remained at No. 3 in the 2A poll, but a tie was broken this week with CWAC rival Ellensburg, which will visit Art Fiker Stadium on Friday night. The Mustangs received 149 points to Ellensburg’s 132. Last week, both teams got 126 points.
Prosser has recorded shutouts in four of its five CWAC wins this season, with Grandview the only team to score on the Mustangs.
Though Royal defeated River View 58-30 last week, the Knights (5-1) fell two spots to No. 7 in the 1A rankings, likely suffering from movement at the top of the poll. Cascade Christian rose to No. 1, and Colville shot from eighth to second after it upset the season-long No. 1, defending state champion Freeman. The Scotties plummeted to No. 5.
Touchet (5-0) and Liberty Christian (6-0) remained 2-3 behind Neah Bay in the 1B poll.
