Notes: Chiefs and Riverhawks have met three times before during the days of the CBBN. The Riverhawks lead the series 2-1, winning the last meeting 38-9 in 2011. ... Chiawana leads the MCC in offense, averaging 43.6 points per game and 7.84 yards per play. The Riverhawks also lead the league in defense, holding teams to just 4.01 yards a play. ... The Chiefs are second in the Big Nine in rushing (177.2 yds/gm) and have four players with at least 300 yards and 4 TDs rushing. ... Moser is the ultimate utility man for Moses Lake. He is seventh in the Big Nine in scoring (54 points), 11th in rushing (6.9 yards/carry), eighth in receiving (29 catches) and third in both kickoff and punt return average. ... Three Chiawana defensive backs — Dorton, Singleton and Isaiah Richie — have combined for 14 interceptions. ... The Riverhawks nearly swept the superlative honors categories in the all-MCC voting. Singleton earned MVP, Chandler Newell was named top OL, LB Alex Weber earned defensive player of the year and Steve Graff was named coach of the year. ... Chiawana RB Austin Urlacher’s season-ending injury will hurt, but more carries for Lozano isn’t necessarily a bad thing. He already leads the MCC in rushing. Expect to see some extra carries for Weber to give Lozano a breather.
Prediction: Chiawana 35, Moses Lake 13

: According to the Vancouver Columbian, quarterback Branson was injured in Week 9 and didn’t play in last week’s win. If he can’t go, obviously the Chieftains will be at a big disadvantage. ... Columbia River runs the read option and may have to rely on backup Gabe Evenson to pick up the road win. ... Columbia River was made famous this season for winning on a bizarre play. Skyview, which played Richland on Friday, blocked a CR field goal attempt, but failed to cover up the ball. As the Skyview players left the field, CR picked it up and ran it in for a touchdown and a victory. ... The Chieftains survived Cleveland last week in part because of an 83-yard touchdown with 3 minutes left from Evenson to Gaylor. ... Looking at last week’s score was probably a bit of a head-scratcher for most Kamiakin fans, as the Braves only beat a 2-7 University High team by a touchdown. But the Braves played well and if not for two onside kicks by UHigh, it would not have been so close. ... Kamiakin surely gained confidence from the tight game and will be expected to play better this afternoon. ... A big key for the Braves is getting more pressure on the quarterback to help out the secondary.
w Prediction: Kamiakin 28, Columbia River 14
