- One of the team's biggest problems last season was matching up physically. That should not be an issue this season with plenty of returners on the line who are "half nasty," Hisaw said.
- Hoe led the league in rushing last year and returns behind an improved O-line, with bookend tackles Reardon and Piver. Larson was a standout lineman but mainly will play defense this season.
- Turner had to learn under fire last season -- a new system for a first-year varsity QB. A good summer should help slow down the game. Handcox is the lone experienced receiver.
- Defense should be a strength, with Larson and Reardon clogging up the middle, Trapani and Gillin returning at linebacker and an athletic group in the secondary.
O-line was a strength on a winless team last year, and it looks as though it will be even better this season. Hoe also has gotten stronger, but still is a threat to get the corner. If Turner and the passing game come along, Wa-Hi will be tough to stop. After taking "baby steps" last season in a new system, the Blue Devils look ready for big-boy ball.
