KENNEWICK -- The Kamiakin Braves stomped the Southridge Suns 48-10 in Week 6, but past performance is not always a good indicator of future events.
Still, against a balanced Kamiakin offense and an aggressive defense, Southridge will need a near-perfect night.
"Anything can happen. It's high school football," said Suns coach Tony Reiboldt. "The kids know they're the underdogs and nobody is giving them a chance to win. We talked about using that as a strength for us."
Reiboldt said one of the keys will be rallying to the ball on defense and not trying to do too much.
Never miss a local story.
The Suns did a decent job containing Braves QB Joey Jansen in their last matchup, holding him to just over 200 yards passing, but that's when Kamiakin's running attack rolled up more than 200 yards.
Southridge has been running the ball better, too, which might open up the passing game for QB Matt Mendenhall.
