Bryce Linker hit a two-run home run and pitched six innings, striking out seven, in leading the Stanfield Tigers to an 8-3 win over the Dufur Rangers in the Special District 6 championship game Saturday in The Dalles.
Stanfield, which also won the regular-season title, will host a first-round state game Wednesday.
Linker, who improved to 9-3 on the mound, did not walk a batter.
The Tigers (17-6) qualified for state for the third year in a row and for the sixth time in seven years. Last year, they lost to eventual champion Kennedy 3-2 in the quarterfinals. They won the state title in 2011.

Cascade 4, Connell 2: The Eagles’ season came to an end at Dan White Field in Eastmont in a close loss to the Kodiaks in the first round of the Class 1A state playoffs.
Jess Hawk threw six innings of solid ball for Connell (17-7), and Brenden Holst went 3-for-4 with a double. The Eagles had a chance to make it real interesting at the end, making the final out with runners at second and third.
Cascade went on to beat Medical Lake 17-7 to advance to the semifinals at Yakima County Stadium next week. The Kodiaks’ opponent will be Cashmere, which swept through the Moses Lake regional, including a 13-3 win over Columbia (Burbank) in the first round.

Mossyrock 2, Tri-Cities Prep 1: The Jaguars came up just short in the Class 2B first-round state game.
Josh Guajardo threw a five-hitter and also had one of three TC Prep hits. Anthony Hinkson’s RBI single in the sixth scored Isaac Nelson as the Jags pulled even. But host Mossyrock scored the winner with two out in the seventh when a ball to center fell just out of reach of the diving outfielder.
Prep ends the season 15-9.

Liberty Christian advances to 1B title game: Brandon Peterson tossed a four-hit gem to lead the Patriots back to the state championship for the first time since they won the first 1B title in 2007.
LC beat Colton 2-1 in the semifinals at University High in Spokane Valley, that after topping Wilbur-Creston 13-6 in the first round.
Corbin Steele went 4-for-4 in the opener.
The Patriots will play Lake Quinault in the championship next Saturday in Ellensburg.
