The Hanford girls golf team sure knows how to finish the regular season.
Kelsey Aiello, Taylor Kain-Godoy and Lacy Skwarek finished in a tie for medalist honors at the final Mid-Columbia Conference girls pod match Monday at Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland, with each shooting 3-over 75 as the Falcons completed their season sweep of the six MCC pod matches.
Hanford outshot Richland by 50 strokes, as its fourth-best golfer on the day — Kate Stephens — still finished in the top 5 with a 78. Kain-Godoy earned the MCC individual championship, averaging 78.5 strokes over the six pods. She was followed by Falcons teammates Kelsey Aiello at 79.0 and Skwarek at 80.5.
Pasco’s Neydeen Martinez, who shot a 79 on the day, topped the 4A individual golfers with an 80.8 season average. She finished fourth overall in the MCC.
INland Empire: Drew McCullough of Richland carded a 1-under 71 to win the Inland Empire tournament at Spokane Country Club.
The Richland junior led three teammates — Hunter Thompson (79), Jeffrey Marcum (82) and Andrew Hattori (84) — in the top 25 as the Bombers finished second in the team race to Coeur d’Alene’s “A” team, which shot a 307 after three of its players tied for second with a 75.
Hanford finished third thanks to four strong rounds from Ezra Arneson (78), Tanner Martin (79), Eric Dahl (81) and Zach Betzsold (81).
Kamiakin’s Pierce McDonald also posted a top 25 finish with an 83.
