The Pasco Bulldogs made a strong showing at the 4A Dance/Drill state championships on Saturday at the SunDome in Yakima, taking second in the Hip Hop competition and finishing fourth in the Show category.
Todd Beamer scored 281.2 points in the Hip Hop event, and Pasco had 273.3. In the Show event, Kentridge took first with a 279.5, followed by Skyview (268), Richland (267) and Pasco (257).
Walla Walla finished fourth in the Dance category, scoring 267 points behind first-place Eastlake (285.5). Chiawana took eighth with 249.5.
Richland also finished seventh in the Pom category, scoring 239 points behind champion Moses Lake (282.4).

Pasco won the Show division at the 3A/2A/1A/2B state championships in 2011 and 2012.
On Friday, Hanford took second in the Kick category at the 3A Dance/Drill state championships, finishing with 274.6 points to earn a "superior" rating and finish just 5.2 points behind first-place Decatur.
The Falcons also took second in the 2A/3A Dance category, scoring 263 points — a mere 9 1/2 behind Tumwater.
Southridge placed second in the Hip Hop event with 265.2 points. Shorecrest won the event with 281.4 points, topping fourth-place Sunnyside (237.9) and Kamiakin (233.7)
Tumwater also won the 2A Hip Hop competition, outscoring Othello 264.6 to 243.5. Othello also took fourth in the 1A/2A Pom category behind Tumwater (270), scoring 239.1 points.
Rebecca Helmann of Kamiakin finished third in the Drill Down competition behind winner Nicole Mollica of Shadle Park.
