It was a great day for the Kamiakin Braves, who wrapped up team championships in baseball, softball and girls track on Saturday, plus four individual track titles along the way.
It wasn’t just the Braves that did well. Four other Mid-Columbia high schools picked up team titles on championship weekend — including the Southridge boys and Hanford girls golf teams earlier this week — and 11 other athletes from seven other schools won individual titles.
Ellie Heiden of Kamiakin (200 meters, 400, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay), Joe Collett of Hanford (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Nick Venema of Bickleton (110 hurdles, pole vault) were multiple winners.
Never miss a local story.
