PASCO -- Two league MVPs and 16 first-team all-league selections from around the Tri-Cities will highlight the list of Mid-Columbia representatives to the 2011 Media Classic basketball game to be held Saturday at Pasco High School.
Kamiakin guards Case Rada and Khadidja Toure, who each led the Braves to a trophy finish at state after earning CBBN 3A Most Valuable Player honors, will get a chance to cap their season with another all-star performance.
Both were also named to the CBBN 3A All-Defensive team.
Rada, who averaged 13.7 points this year in leading the Kamiakin boys to a third-place finish at the 3A state tournament, will lead a group of 15 players that includes CBBN first-team selections Grant Gallinger (Richland), Bryce Leavitt (Kennewick), Aaron Neary (Hanford) and Buddy Walter (Chiawana).
The Tri-Cities boys team, which has lost the last four matchups against Yakima, will be coached by Columbia Basin College men's coach Rolando Garcia. Yakima leads the series 17-4.
Toure, who led the CBBN 3A in scoring at over 20 points a game this year before guiding the Kamiakin girls to a fifth place state finish, will take the floor with fellow CBBN first-teamers Yessica Diaz (Pasco), Collette Gall (Hanford), Mandy Machinal (Richland) plus Shelby Ellsworth, Hayley Hodgins and Mikaela Rivard of Chiawana.
