The Hanford High School Volleyball team made only three serving errors on its way to beating Walla Walla in three sets on the road in a Mid-Columbia Conference/Greater Spokane League Class 4A regional play-in game on Tuesday.
Hanford (5-10) will travel to play Mead at 4 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the double-elimination tournament.
Rose Dimmick went 14-for-14 at the service line and had six of Hanford’s 10 aces.

Ki-Be will host its first playoff game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Bears were ranked No. 9 in the Class 1A state coaches poll entering the week.

A young team with only one returning varsity contributor from last year’s squad, TCP was in a playoff race until a loss to White Swan on Oct. 13 — two league matches ago — knocked them out of postseason contention.
Bella Ghirardo had six kills and 13 digs, and Emily Dickson had five kills and 12 digs to lead the team against D-W.

Brooklyn Chavez served 15 consecutive points for River View in a 25-3 second-game victory.

WARDEN 2, ROYAL 1: The Cougars scored the first two goals of the game en route to an SCAC East victory over the host Knights.
Aubree Skone and Bailey Whitney scored for Warden, while Royal’s Yajara Michel scored with less than seven minutes left in regulation.
“It was the last match of the season for us, and unfortunately it was a one-goal re-run of what we have been seeing all season,” Royal coach Jens Jensen said. “It has been a bummer to find ourselves on the wrong side of so many close matches this year, but the girls continued to learn and never gave up.”

OTHELLO 3, PROSSER 1: Tori Cantu scored 14 seconds into the game and later had an assist to help the host Huskies (12-4-1) defeat the Mustangs (10-6-1) in a 2A CWAC district loser-out match.
In Thursday’s semifinals, the Huskies will play at Selah (5 p.m. start), while Ephrata — a 5-2 winner over Grandview on Tuesday — will go to Ellensburg (3:30 p.m. start). All four teams will advance to the state playoffs.
Othello, which finished in a four-way tie for the CWAC regular-season title, was the No. 4 seed because of a number draw. Prosser was No. 5.
Nikki Velazquez assisted on Cantu’s score and had two goals of her own, pushing her total to 32 for the season. Othello’s Jenelle Garza had six saves.
Prosser’s Jamie Fassler scored in the 25th minute. Mustangs goalie Josie Williams stopped eight shots.
