1993: Hermiston Swim Club member Toby Wilcox won the boys' age 15-18 800-meter freestyle during the first day of the Inland Empire Bank Hermiston Invitational Swim Meet.
Wilcox, an Oregon state high school champion in the 50 and 100 free, won the 800 in 10 minutes, .07 seconds.
Meanwhile, Tualatin Hills Swim Club members made a splash on the opening day by setting meet records in six of 12 events.
* 1984 -- The Tri-Cities Triplets rode the momentum from Joe Grayston's first home run of the season to a 5-2 victory against the Everett Giants in a Northwest League game at Richland High School. Eric Dersin picked up the win after striking out five and allowing two runs and seven hits in seven innings.
