2002 -- The Tri-City Americans announced their fifth head coach in four years as Shaun Clouston took over for Troy Mick, who left after one season to coach Kamloops. Clouston was the 6th coach in the team's 14 seasons -- several didn't stick around long enough to coach a single game. Clouston wouldn't last one season, with GM Bob Tory coaching the final 12 games in 2003 before Don Nachbaur was hired and coached the next six seasons.
* 1992 -- The Continental Basketball Association owners approved the sale of the cash-strapped Tri-City Chinook by Gary Mathiesen to Mike Lundgren. Lundgren would own the team for less than three years, giving it back to the league on May 1, 1995.
