* 1952 -- Senior fullback Jerry Forsyth caught a pass from QB Ed Colleran on a 60-yard play in the first quarter as Prosser beat Selah 19-13.
* 1980 -- Former Kamiakin standout Steve White threw a 6-yard pass to Jim Sandusky -- helping Walla Walla CC storm out to a four-touchdown edge on the way to a 27-8 win over Columbia Basin -- but ruptured his Achilles tendon leaping into the air during a celebration. The two teams combined for 329 yards in penalties. The headline in the next day's Herald read "Columbia Basin Walla Walloped 27-8."
* 1997 -- The Spokane Chiefs opened the 1997-98 Western Hockey League season with a 7-6 home victory over the Tri-City Americans. Dating back to the previous season, it marked the third straight output of seven goals or more against the visiting Ams.
