* 1957 -- Pasco trotted out a field goal -- rarest bird in the prep football zoo -- to gain a 16-14 victory over Walla Walla in a Yakima Valley AA conference matchup in the first-ever game played at Edgar Brown Memorial Stadium. Bulldogs sophomore fullback Ray Amstadt kicked the field goal in the fourth quarter to give his team a 10-7 lead and a margin of safety that was needed before the game was over. It was the first Pasco win over Wa-Hi since 1953, when Ben Milam and Company came out with a 7-6 victory.
* 1977 -- Quarterbacks Stan Buck of Othello and Kamiakin's Lee Adams were selected as athletes of the week by the Columbia Basin Sportswriters and Broadcasters. Buck went 11-for-16 in passing as the Huskies rolled to a 39-0 win on Friday, Sept. 9, and Adams passed for two TDs and ran for a third in the Braves' 27-12 downing of University of Spokane on Sept. 10.
* 1996 -- Eric Berg's 66-yard scoring run in the second quarter highlighted a 30-0 Sunnyside victory over visiting Othello, and host Prosser chalked up its 45th consecutive Mid-Valley League victory with a 41-0 demolition of Selah.
